For this comic brief we had to work in groups of four, this has been my first ever group project when it comes to art so it was new and refreshing. I liked the nursery rhyme we had been given as there was multiple ideas that could pop into my head - overall we had chosen to do Ayeisha's idea as it was something we all really thought would be interesting and fun to create.
I have worked on the main character's design and gave him a fantasy feel, kind of like Frodo from Lord of the Rings but with some added magical horns as this was my idea to try and express the emotions of Little Johnny - the moods would change the colour glow of the horns. There was a lot of difficulties to try and communicate ideas to one another online rather in person but we managed to get an understanding on what to do and know which panels each of us would take on depending on the universe that interested us all. This project could have worked out smoothly if we had decided to split up the work as to make it have the feel having it been created by 1 artist and not 3 different people but we managed to talk about how our styles would have overlapped so the universe idea was easily used to make it as though each place had different styles as the storyline would take place in different places. This clearly did not turn out the way we expected it to have but I have learnt more in what I can do to help in group situations and what to avoid. |
