Save The Bees Protest Pack

The protest pack project is to identify a problem that, to your mind, needs to be fought against, that needs to be given attention and that would benefit from a wider awareness.

You are going to create the materials which will be used to protest against your chosen injustice and inform those less familiar with it - importantly, the materials you create should available to be used by anyone, anywhere, to join the fight.

For my pack I wanted to go ahead with my idea for 'save the bees' as I wanted to spread more awareness that we need bees to survive. As bees are in decline and have made it to the endangered list I wanted to focus specifically on how we could help as individuals. My pack consists of a seed pack design which can be torn with seeds inside to plant around your own gardens and also have kids join in on the activity.

I have also included posters and bookmarks which are made of seeded paper which can be torn up and planted when not in use. As my intended target audience are young kids, I wanted to create a sticker sheet, I used the designs I already have and compiled them onto one sheet. My poster design is to show the queen bee in hibernation as the apples on the tree and leaves all begin to wither away/ become rotten.

I have also created a bus stop mock up poster with a small amount of writing for those waiting. I also have smaller sized sheets in which the back of the paper has more information and can also be planted.

My last design is a webpage where you can find information and look into what the kit provides. I made a small gif of the bar moving to show all the mock ups.

I found this project to be really fun, I had a clear idea of what I wanted to do and felt much more confident compared to the first two projects. I also enjoyed having to spread more awareness on a topic that was meaningful to us, and to create an illustration that would show how we would be without the help of bees.
I did need to compress the file for the gif to work on the blog so there are a few textures over it.
