EDITORIAL

The editorial project is based on creating an Illustration that fit with our chosen articles and try to come up with a conceptual theme. I was given 'GenZ workers should be proud of being 'snowflakes' rather than martyrs'.

I was asked to create a 135 × 75mm CMYK Illustration along with a 45 × 65mm B&W Spot Illustration.

For my black and white spot illustration I liked the idea of trying to come up with a shattered snowflake. I overall wanted to keep this piece very simple and not overly complicated as I was already having a bit of trouble figuring out my larger illustartion and needed more time to think about how I wanted it to go.

My final illustration I based on protests, I created 3 main characters with different snowflake designs as their 'faces' as this would be their identities. I then felt like I needed to add more to the environment and created a crowd behind them with signs all around them. My overall colour scheme was going to be blue but I thought agasint it and kept it blue for the background but gave my characters more colour to them, I primarily used purple, pink and yellow with both the outfits and the snowflakes.

I found this project to be challenging, I think the few months of not drawing did not help get back into it and I struggled a lot and kept overthinking my idea and if it fit the conceptual theme or not. Overall I am pleased with my final design although I do think I could improve on it.
